A little more about me:

sculpturepaintingI have been an artist since early childhood, but it was only once I was into my thirties that I realized that making art was really what I wanted to do with my life. I work primarily in oil paints, but I also enjoy photography and sculpture and hope to find ways to combine all of these elements into future works. I have a separate website for my artwork. I also have a website called Virtual Bubble Wrap that is fairly internationally famous, which I started in 1996 as a part of my homepage but eventually grew into its own site. In what little spare time I manage to find, I enjoy reading, dancing, having friends over to hang out (and play Rock Band on the X-Box), and have been juggling as a hobby for over 20 years. I love to snow ski when I get the chance, and waterski/kneeboard when I'm at the lake.

me with my son, a photo of my son, and a painting I did from the photoI will graduate from Cleveland State University with my BA in Studio Art on May 16, 2009, after attending a total of 6 colleges in 3 states over a span of 19 years. (For the last 3 years I have been a full-time student, primarily at Kennesaw State and Cleveland State Universities.)

When I met Dan at the juggling festival in 2004, I knew right away that he was something special. The first night we met, we stayed up talking until probably 4am and I think I may have started falling in love with him that very night. We share so many interests--we both juggle, as an obvious starter. We also both love to dance, travel, read, bike-ride, eat Mexican food...

Most of the first half of our relationship was long-distance. At first I lived in Northern Virginia (near DC) and he lived in Atlanta. Then I moved to Atlanta, but about 6 months after I moved there, Dan came to Cleveland to go to the podiatry school. It was another 2 years before I was able to move up here, so it was back to long distance. Lots of phone calls... lots of travel back and forth. When I was finally able to move to Cleveland it was like a dream come true. My time here with him increasingly confirmed for me that this was the man I wanted to be with for the rest of my life.

For Dominic it has also been a good thing, since after his dad and I separated, I was raising him as a single mother with no male role model in the house. Additionally, I was raised by two single women without any male role model in the house. Dan, being raised in a home with two parents and two brothers, knew a lot more about boys than I did! He has been a great influence on Dominic and has provided a lot of good advice and perspective on a boy's development (we have had so many conversations where I have been at my wit's end over something that Dominic did, vented to Dan about it, and had Dan say "so? He's a boy. That's normal." And then I say "...oh.") So Dominic comes out ahead now: already having a great dad (who I am still very close friends with), now he will also have a great step-dad.

Muffin cups make excellent tiger-sunglasses accessories--they're very fancy. They also match hobo-style '70s shirts quite nicely.

I painted this unicorn mural at camp when I was 11, (except for the strange purple puddle,) and yes, I apparently wore white pants to summer camp back in the '80s.
